Academic Coach Mentorship

Our Academic Coaches are highly regarded as mentors who get to know their students’ academic strengths, challenges, interests, and goals. Academic Coaches partner with students to build a Personalized Learning Plan that will serve as a roadmap to success for the school year. Through coaching techniques and tools provided in the Personalized Learning Plan, Academic Coaches help students foster critical thinking skills, become independent learners, and develop a lifelong love of learning.

Teacher Support

While students advance through their courses at their own pace, Palm Beach International Academy Teachers provide customized instruction and are available to support student with challenging content and topics. Teachers provide thoughtful feedback on student work through our Learning Management System, allowing parents to easily access comments and track their child’s progress at any time.

Future Goals Support

Our Academic Coaches provide invaluable support for future goal planning, including assistance for college applications and essay writing for college-bound students.

Time Management

Our Academic Coaches guide our students as they develop a weekly and daily academic schedule that best fits their lifestyle, learning preferences, and goals. We encourage our Upper School students to work independently and use their available resources–including on-site support–should they need guidance in their coursework. Typically, 4 to 6 hours are spent on each course per week, depending on the difficulty level of the course.

Parent Involvement

At Palm Beach International Academy, we encourage parental involvement in their child’s education while also empowering students to take ownership of their academic journey. Teachers are available for parent conferences throughout the school-year and student academic progress is accessible daily in the Learning Management System.

Course Selection

Each student’s Academic Coach will craft a personalized academic plan using their transcript and assessment results, ensuring it aligns with their unique educational needs and future aspirations. With a robust course catalog to choose from—including college preparatory, honors, Advanced Placement (AP), world languages, Dual Enrollment, and interest-based electives—students have the opportunity to shape their educational journey and unlock their full potential!
