Course Overview:

The Honors Russian 6 online course is for students that speak Russian fluently and can express themselves with ease and spontaneity without much obvious searching for expressions. Students will learn to understand idioms in fiction, newspaper articles, movies, performances, and TV programs so they will be able to appreciate the role of Russian culture in a global context by conversing regularly with a native speaker.

The learner will be able to hold a conversation about Russian culture, describe Moscow and St. Petersburg, Russian museums and landmarks, the Russian countryside, and know some Russian songs, poets and writers. Regarding grammar, students will continue to improve their knowledge about the case system, know how to use active and passive participles, use verbal adverbs, and form direct and indirect speech.

Honors credit is granted through completion of additional coursework.
